Home and Healing

You never know what peace is until you walk on the shores or in the fields or along the winding red roads of Prince Edward Island in a summer twilight when the dew is falling and the old stars are peeping out and the sea keeps its mighty tryst with the little land it loves. You find your soul then. You realize that youth is not a vanished thing but something that dwells forever in the heart. ~ L.M. Montgomery

My little grandchildren seeing the red roads of the Island for the first time.

Hello dear friends! I thought I would pop a short post on here to let you all know that I've had my second surgery and I'm home from the hospital. It was a difficult weekend but I think I'm finally beginning to mend.

Sunday was Father's Day and my son and his girfriend stopped by for a short visit. She brought me flowers from her parents' garden. Among them was this handful of dainty little Lily-of-the Valley which I have arranged in a teacup. Aren't they darling? And they smell so good too.

I want to thank each and every one of you who have taken the time to pray for me, visited my blog, and left such lovely comments. You really are a special group of ladies and I'm happy to call you my Friends!

I may take a short break from blogging to get back on my feet. I'll see how it goes. In the meantime, know that you are loved and very much appreciated. Take care everyone and God bless you!

  1. I'm so glad to hear that your surgery went well! Your Lily-in-the-Valley looks so pretty in the teacup. I was meaning to pick some of the Lily-in-the-Valley in my flowers, but I think they got fried during last week's heat wave because they wilted pretty quickly!

  7. Dear Sandi, I'm glad your second surgery is behind you, and that you're home from the hospital and starting to recover. Enjoy lots of cups of soothing tea and don't rush your recovery. God bless!

  8. So happy that you are "home and healing". That is great news! We will continue to pray for your complete recovery. It takes a while to regain your strength, but just take your time and let others do for you what you would do for them if the shoe were on the other foot. Enjoy some pampering for a while! Love the lily of the valley in that sweet little green tea cup! Perfect!! It helps to have some lovely things to look at while recuperating, doesn't it? I am still recovering from some "minor" "repair" surgery...taking longer than I thought...but still within what the Dr. said it would be...but I want to get back to "normal". My advice to you is take one day at a time and don't fret over things you cannot do. Just get plenty of REST!!! That's what I'm doing, and it will pay off in the long run, I am sure. God bless you sweet friend!!

  10. I'm so thankful to know that your surgery is behind you and know it's on to healing, my friend. You take all the time that you need to rest and recuperate, Sandi. Wasn't that sweet of your son's girlfriend to bring you some flowers from her parent's garden? The smell of them must bring a smile to your face. Love, hugs, and blessings are sent to you.
